ERGÉSIS
Chapter Г
THE CREATION
I am!
…only one.
…the first.
…the last as well.
Am I?
It rang out above the abyss of darkness –
there, above the waters,
where his consciousness spread
like light.
And it lit the Earth.
And the Earth hid herself from the Light.
The black canvas of inversion
blazed with the palette of the softest crimson.
With the stroke of his will’s brush
he felt the dawn,
and the first morning came.
I am,
it whispered over the waters.
Thus the sky rose above them.
Thus into it fell the fading
fire of sunset.
Thus evening drifted through.
And there was night…
…when the mind slumbers in dark-blue repose,
…when the mind dreams its wishes
into another
Dawn.
Which revealed dry land among the waters.
Upon it green awoke,
as he wove its presence with a new color,
as he stirred every leaf and blade of grass
with his own breath,
as he rustled in the crowns his own song.
Thus from the delight of trees came forth fruit.
Thus within each, a promise of further life ripened.
Thus the second day was fulfilled
and rested in his work.
Until the velvet of night,
where he stitched a vault of stars in silver faith,
where by his own face he appointed the Moon,
where dawn took the place of the Sun.
Perhaps from submerging into the sea of himself
he filled it with fish and other life.
Perhaps by stepping upon the land
he spread the cries of birds and the calls of animals.
Perhaps by the nature of simple order
all came in pairs –
emanation and revolution.
And then consciousness paused –
unaware of this ancient law,
unaware of the Fullness,
unaware of the state of Separation,
sensing only that…
I am alone!
